What he said here might be good. But starting a constitutional convention is like opening a Pandora box. None can guarantee the convention will limit the amendment on specific topics. The right wings have prepared for this. They even held a mock convention in Virginia in 2016

It's actually interesting to understand why Trump needs to declare his support for amendment. The President doesn't hv any power whatsoever that could trigger the amendment as described by Article V. maybe it's just a rallying cry?An anti-establishment sentiment of 2016 campaign?
