Hi There !!!! This is the first post of Environmental News Clipping on this website. I’ve tried to routinely collect environmental news from reputable newspapers and magazines since 2017, as it’s part of my job as an environmental legal researcher. But I must admit, it’s quite difficult to be consistent doing this mundane task even though I knew It’s very important to follow what’s happening and getting coverage from the media, and, most importantly, archiving it. I believe that news reported by newspapers and magazines, not the one that specifically writes about the environment, sometimes represent general public perception towards the environmental issues we are facing nowadays. Some publishers even providing reliable data or background information which can be used as a stepping stone to a further research by scholars or activists. So, as I’m reviving this website, I’ve made a commitment to myself to make a weekly environmental news clipping and share it here. If possible I’ll also make an analysis of what’s happening in the past week. Unfortunately, for this first post I haven’t got times to make the said analysis. So, without further ado, here’s the clipping of environmental news I gathered from Harian Kompas (Indonesia), The Washington Post, The Economist, and New Scientist Magazine.
cheers 🥂
